The sweet smell of success

Sanjay Anand, the owner of the Perfume Warehouse Ltd on Oak Road, started his first business in New York 30 years ago as a perfumier.

His business model is to sell designer perfumes at unbeatable prices, on the High Street and online. However, the real pièce de résistance for sale is Sanjay's very own perfume creation, The Anand Prive Collection. Now, three years after launching, there is a range of 16 fragrances to suit every mood.

Forty Years and still counting!

Three hours after arriving at Heathrow airport Monty started work in the Ealing Tandoori, now Cote Brasserie on Ealing Green.                                                   With dedication and hard work, Monty established with his family the Montys brand. There are branches in South Ealing, Fulham, Kingston and Dublin, but the heart and flagship of the brand is No 1 The Mall.

Tracy Round-Turner the newly appointed Assistant Principal: West London College - Ealing Green, is asking for help from businesses to help provide a Freshers' Fair on Thursday, October 10th (yes next week!).

Over 800 16-18-year-old students will be attending the college on Ealing Green, and there has been a tradition of businesses working with the college to provide a warm welcome to Ealing.

In the past, they have had a variety of activities such as a DJ, popcorn stand, bouncy castle, rodeo bull, and freebies from local businesses in the way of vouchers for money off in their shops/ restaurants/ cafes etc. If you think you can contribute in any way, please email Tracy t.round-turner@wlc.ac.uk

 
Elegance in Ealing

Mary's Living and Giving (MLG) on Ealing Green have been setting social media alight with their Elegance in Ealing photoshoots. Nica Cornell, the volunteer who came up with the concept, explains that 'As part of the community ethos of MLG, these photoshoots seek to celebrate local talent, history, sites and business.' All the models are Ealing residents who have volunteered their time and show a diverse range of ethnicities, body shapes and ages.

High Street Community Loyalty Scheme for Local Businesses

High Street Rewards, a new community loyalty scheme sponsored by Visa, has been collecting very positive feedback from local businesses.

Merchants join the High Street Reward network by providing an offer to fund points automatically awarded to customers paying with a registered VISA card. 

Customers can both earn points to support Shop Local and spend their points to receive cashback automatically credited to their VISA card. Earning and spending points is limited to purchases with participating High Street Rewards businesses.                                                   Real-time mobile marketing connects merchants to customers and enables personalised "Thank You" messaging immediately after purchase as well as the promotion of other businesses nearby with an offer.                                                   The High Street Rewards pilot focuses on Ealing businesses, so there will be significant marketing and promotions for those taking part.                                   There is no extra administration charge or upfront payment. PURPLE Tuesday, November 12th November

herePurple Tuesday 2019 is an international call to action, focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people.

It will involve organisations of all sizes and from all sectors taking decisive, practical steps to meet the needs of disabled customers.
Across the UK, the Purple Pound – the consumer spending power of disabled people and their families – is worth £249 billion and is rising by an average of 14% per annum.                                  Worldwide, the Purple Pound equates to a staggering £2.25 trillion, yet less than 10% of businesses have a targeted plan to access this disability market.

Purple Tuesday is about creating a step-change improvement in the awareness of the value and needs of disabled customers. It is about making the customer experience accessible. Participating organisations will make public commitments (a minimum of one new activity or initiative) to ensure sustainable changes are made.                                 For organisations, this will result in the opening up of products and services to the disability market.                               Find out more info here www.purpletuesday.org.uk
 
EWG SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2020
 

Entries have been flooding in for Ealing Wildlife Group public exhibition, on display from Saturday, October 5th - November 30th in Walpole Park. Sean McCormack, founder and Chairman of EWG, says: "We're incredibly proud and excited that the EWG Photography Exhibition is entering its third year. We had an amazing response to the exhibition in both 2017 and 2018 - it really does highlight the joy and beauty that can be found in local wildlife and nature.

In 2020 there are plans to tour the exhibition around other park locations in the borough. EWG is offering relatively low-cost sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to support the photography exhibition physically and digitally. It's Not Goodbye...

OPEN Ealing are extending their stay in Oak Rd until November, after which they will move into the Christ The Saviour Community Club on Dickens Yard. Their small shop has been a hive of activity, showcasing local artists alongside interactive projects and entertainment that enabled all ages and abilities to take part.

Christmas Market Opportunities

The Ealing Christmas Market will be returning to Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre on Wednesday, November 27th until December 24th December 

 Eat-me-drink-me who organise the market will be hosting an array of rotating pop-ups offering festive treats and gifts. 

There is limited availability for local traders to hire a small log cabin for 1-3 weeks duration. Find out more here

Make It Ealing is planning to repeat the Christmas Tree lights Switch- on event on November 30th. SPRING BRIDGE ROAD CAR PARK SURVEY

The Council are planning to refurbish and redecorate parts of Spring Bridge Road car park. However, before they commence, they would like feedback from local businesses and residents about proposals under consideration to close the car park overnight. The aim is to try and eliminate the issues of drug use, excessive noise, public urination and rough sleeping, particularly after officer's finish in the evenings.
