BEAT Artists
BEAT (Borough of Ealing Art Trail) Artists to exhibit in the Rickyard, Walpole Park
OVERVIEW
Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery Trust (PMGT) are looking for up to five artists to exhibit their work in the Rickyard in Walpole Park, during the London Borough of Ealing Art Trail over two weekends during 5–6th and 12–13th September 2020. PMGT hosted the London Independent Group of Photographer (LIP Ealing) during BEAT 2019 and welcomed over 1000 visitors to the venue, as well as hosted an artist talk, family workshop, photowalk, and Instagram challenge. This year is an open call to BEAT artists.
Specification:
We welcome proposals from artists who are passionate about people and enjoy showing and sharing their work to a broad public. You believe in arts and creativity for all, bringing confidence, warmth and a welcoming spirit to ensure all participants, colleagues and partners feel valued.
We are looking to host a range of artists, emerging, experimenting and established, working in different media. As part of our public programme you must be willing to speak and interact with the public of varying ages. Each artist will need to produce a public activity in collaboration with PMGT such as but not limited to: a public talk about your work, a family or community workshop using your medium and techniques, or host a public demonstration. We are open to all ideas about how you might like to engage the public, and/or a specific audience with your work. We would enjoy hearing about how you could link your work thematically to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery.
We will provide the venue, support and promote your public event in our normal coverage. Installation and display fixtures, invigilation and promotion of individual artists’ work will fall to the chosen exhibiting artists; we can provide tables and easels. You will be required to apply to BEAT as an individual artist listing the Rickyard as your venue after selection by Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery.
Deadline: Friday 7 February
We will arrange an informal chat about your work and ideas and will let you know by Thursday 27 February so you can meet the BEAT application deadline of 15 March 2020.
