Welcome New Businesses

October was a busy month for new businesses opening across the BID area.
Rayuela Restaurant serving organic Spanish-themed dishes in Dickens Yard is the latest venture of Reineta Cafe owner Miguel Morales.
Kanada-Ya, on Filmworks Walk, is a firm favourite with food critics who claim they sell the best Ramen in London.

Black Sheep Coffee, also on Filmworks walk and famous for its coffee beans to buy, and smooth-tasting coffee, are now open for business.

35 Bond Street sees the arrival of The Lantern, specialising in Moroccan and Lebanese Cuisine. They will soon expand their night-time offer with breakfast and lunchbox deals for eat-in and delivery.
Hair & Beauty at 56 The Mall specialise in wigs, and I Fix Mobile at 49 New Broadway offers a selection of mobile goods, luggage, and toys.

Big news on The Broadway will be the opening of Popeyes on Saturday, November 5th, home of the famous Louisiana Chicken Sandwich.
They have a vast hungry following so expect queues as people rush to be one of the first to taste the Ealing offering.

If the need to relax is on your to-do list, then look at The Massage Company opening on November 10th at 1 Oak Rd. They aim to improve your mental and physical well-being with their subscription packages, enabling a better, balanced lifestyle.

Festive Feeling for Ealing

Seventy thousand copies of The Make It Ealing - Festive Feeling What's on guide will be delivered to households this weekend. We are showcasing maps, a shopping directory, transport links, churches, car parks and QR codes linking to more detailed information. The aim is to encourage 'Shop Local' and highlight the extensive entertainment on residents' doorsteps.

Key dates:

Christmas On Ealing Broadway, Town Square from November 17th
Carols on the Yard, Elizabeth Square, December 3rd.

Pavement licence

We are still waiting, since the last newsletter, for confirmation from Ealing Council that they will be following the recommendations of the Town and Business Planning Act 2020, which extended the £100 pavement license fee to September 30th 2023. Read the updated legislation here.

Traffic light upgrade.

TFL are carrying out signal modernisation works at the New Broadway/The Broadway/High Street/Spring Bridge Road junction from 17/10/22 until 22/11/22. Relocated pedestrian crossing points and temporary traffic lights will be in use for the duration of the works.

Recycling bags

Please be aware if you order bags from a waste supplier, you will be responsible for the cost. The BID office staff deliver a free yearly allocation of recycling bags to independent businesses, representing 20% of the BID levy they pay.

Make It Ealing use Biffa as their supplier, as they offer businesses excellent BID discounts across bag and bin lift services.

The BID has not supplied First Mile bags for over a year, so if you still use First Mile - Make It Ealing recycling bags and don't use any other First Mile services, you will need to make First Mile customer services aware that you have pre-paid bags that need collecting. Technically the Make It Ealing free recycling bag contract has ended, and the collection date has expired. However, the bags and collection were pre-paid, so do not just throw them away. Please get in touch with the BID office if you need more information.

FREE Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) training is available to businesses in partnership with Highfield eLearning. This certified course is run online and is open to individuals and groups.
