The Deputy Mayor of London for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, made time in his schedule to visit local businesses after attending a LEAP (London Economic Action Partnership) meeting in Charlottes W5, on July 30th. As a founder of two firms, Rajesh has first-hand experience of having a great idea and translating it into a successful business model. Rajesh enjoyed meeting and chatting to fellow entrepreneur business owners Artisan Coffee, Reinata and Riding Wine before he left Ealing.

St George has delivered on its commitment to provide community space for Ealing and has handed over the keys to Christ the Saviour Ealing Community Hub located next to Gym Box on Dickens Yard. It will provide a hugely important space for the local church and school to use for a variety of activities as well as desk space for a work hub. Representatives from St George, the Vicar Fr. Richard, Church Warden Jackie Ashmenall, Head School Teacher Katie Tramoni and church committee members celebrated the handover on July 24th and are looking forward to moving in.

Decathlon Grand Opening. There is great excitement in Ealing Broadway Centre with preparations for the opening of Decathlon on Thursday, August 15th at 4.30 pm. IT'S A-MAZE-ING! Ealing Broadway Centre is packing in the fun for the school holidays from July 27th – September 1st. Tell your family and friends to explore the maze and find their wings as they stand against the butterfly graffiti wall art. Bonus funs days are 'Really Wild Wednesdays' and 'Super Summer Saturdays' (11 am - 4 pm) with special activities including, learn how to grow your veggies, design recycled bags and win at buggy bingo. 'Oh, What A Lovely Pear' presented by OPEN Ealing is exhibiting in a pop-up venue, generously donated by British Land at unit 5, 8 Oak Road, to showcase some of the outstanding talent and creativity in Ealing. One of OPEN Ealing's key priorities is to work with the local community by offering activities to people of all ages and levels of ability. The arts organisation strives for creative excellence, inclusion and aspiration. The exhibition will be showing something new every day. There are some very affordable exhibits from amateurs and professionals so well worth a visit.

EALING BROADWAY STATION PROPOSAL

40.000 people enter and exit Ealing Broadway Station every weekday, and that number is expected to increase when Crossrail starts operating.

Ealing Council has put forward a public realm proposal. The aim is to improve the character of the area, enable busy pedestrian flows by widening footways and where possible, installing new pedestrian crossings and adding to the existing style and integrity of the area by protecting existing trees, and providing new trees where suitable. They plan to position street furniture to minimise the impact on pedestrian flows, plus install a cycle lane.

Heathrow Community Engagement Board Public Meeting: Heathrow Airport's impact on local business

Ealing Council's Liveable Neighbourhoods Team is teaming up with the SoundBite Festival to celebrate World Car Free Day on September 22nd, 2019.
They will be using the opportunity to close Leeland Terrace from Uxbridge Road to Coldershaw Road/Hatfield Road junction [and adjoining residential streets south of Leeland Terrace].

Businesses have been invited to set up stalls and promote their business for free but will need to confirm by August 19th if they would like a stall.
