The government has approved the proposals put forward by Ealing Council for The WBF (Welcome Back Funding). A plan for seven borough-wide free activations on the High Street will be launched with a Screen On The Green on Bank holiday weekend and continue with different themes across the borough throughout September. The Ealing Green Screen will be showing a series of free family fun films from Thursday 26th August - Monday 30th with an "Eat & Go" area furnished with tables and chairs on the grass area outside the 'Drapers Arms' and 'For Art's Sake'.

The idea is for people to order takeaways from local restaurants and eat them in the Eat & Go area or while watching the film.

Data commissioned by Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre said four in five questioned would be more spontaneous now the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
While many admit they took the simple things for granted before lockdown, 67% of respondents put spending time with friends at the top of their summer wish list. 33% said enjoying more days out, and 25% stated a shopping spree was high on the list of priorities, alongside trips to the cinema, eating indoors and going to the pub.
Good news for visitors, there are plenty of deckchairs to rest weary legs on Town Square and the Green, so fingers crossed for more sunny weather!
