Stage 4 Restrictions
 

The guidance for working safely during coronavirus has been updated to ensure businesses are aware of their legal responsibilities to customers and staff as the roadmap moves to stage 4 on July 19th.

Key aspects of the document are listed below, but it is essential to review all the relevant information as there are specific details for each sector.

The Business Toolkit will be updated with any changes 

  • Businesses still have a legal duty to manage the risk of COVID-19 transmission to their employees. Every business should have an updated risk assessment, which includes the risk of Covid-19. You can find helpful information on how to do this via the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
  • Consult workers on how they want to work to avoid the risks from COVID-19. Build a consensus about the approach your business follows. 
  • Workers that feel unwell must not attend the business venue/workplace. It is illegal for an employer to ask staff to attend the workplace if they have COVID-19 or are required to isolate. 
  • Use signage and visual aids to give customers clear guidance on expected behaviour while they are on your premises. 
  • Consider maintaining sanitisation measures, such as hand sanitiser and masks at entry points. 
  • It remains imperative to clean surfaces that receive a lot of contact from staff and customers.
  • Prioritise adequate ventilation throughout premises and small, enclosed spaces in particular – either using doors, windows and vents, or via mechanical ventilation
  • Close contact services are encouraged to continue to support NHS Test and Trace through the provision of NHS QR code posters and a manual record system for those without the app
  • Restaurants, pubs, bars, nightclubs and takeaway services, are encouraged to support NHS Test and Trace by providing NHS QR code posters and a manual record system for those without the app. Businesses do not have to ask people to check-in or turn people away if they refuse to provide their details.

Travelling back to work?

If riding on a scooter starts to appeal during the predicted heatwave, be aware! E-scooters are classed as motor vehicles by the Department of Transport. They are subject to the same legal requirements as motor vehicles such as MOT, licencing, tax, and insurance, with users liable to penalty points, fines, and the breathalyser!

If you are back in the office but are still uncertain about using public transport, Ealing council have a value three-month or yearly season ticket rate for Spring Bridge Road car park. However, if you only work occasional days in the office, there is an excellent value and convenience deal with Premium Car parks (PCP) at the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre car park.
