The Government has announced a one-off support package for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses mandated to close under the latest National Lockdown legislation, (Lockdown 3).

We are still waiting for details about the Lockdown 3 grant and the application process. However, indicators suggest one-off top-up grants will be given to businesses mandated to close.

Grant allocation is expected to be, 

• £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
• £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
• £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

We will update the Business Toolkit and email businesses when application information is available. 

We are still waiting for more details regarding grants that will cover restrictions imposed by Tier 4. Guidance issued to councils suggests payments will be made on a 14-day payment cycle.  More details here.

Ealing moved from Tier 3 to Tier 4 on 20 December - Monday 4 January (16 days), moving to national lockdown on 5 January.

Suggested levels of funding are,

• £667 per 14-day qualifying restriction period for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
• 1,000 per 14-day qualifying restriction period for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
• £1,500 per 14-day qualifying restriction period for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

Applications for the local restrictions support grants for businesses mandated to close from the 5 November - 2nd December 2020 (Lockdown 2) closed on 23 December 2020. 

Ealing council have not yet published qualifying details for discretionary grants for businesses impacted by the Tier systems or lockdowns.
