His Majesty The King visited Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre on Thursday, December 7th. The primary purpose of the visit was to personally meet recipients of The King's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest possible Award given to local voluntary groups and the equivalent of an MBE.

Despite the visit only being announced moments before His Majesty's arrival, large crowds quickly turned up to welcome the king enthusiastically. King Charles reciprocated the welcome with warm words and plenty of chuckles as he browsed the Christmas market and Santa's Grotto. Children from Christ the Saviour COE Primary School sang festive carols; there was a performance by a local Polish choir singing a traditional carol and a short, signed dance performance by the IMPACT Theatre Group. It was a whistle-stop tour but welcomed by all lucky enough to be around on the day.

Gashapon Bandai Official Shop is in Ealing Broadway Centre. It is a unique concept from Japan and offers a variety of coin-operated vending machines that dispense collectable capsule toys with a no-age limit appeal.

Many of the toys are officially licensed character replicas of famous video games. The staff are super helpful if you are new to the experience, and your gamer relatives will be well impressed with your present buying skills if you hand them a Gashapon capsule!

We thank our talented local schools and community groups for helping us light the Christmas tree on Filmworks on November 18th. Local MP Dr Rupa Huq & Konnie Huq of 'Blue Peter' fame, alongside Questors Panto and Santa and Elf, led the countdown after a glorious afternoon of festive singing and good cheer. It was also a splendid celebration of Picture House Cinema opening and the fabulous new businesses in Filmworks. We were honoured to welcome Grange School, Love2Sing Choir, St Gregory's Primary School, Drayton Green, Dance Gallery, Voices Singing School, and Questors Panto. See more pictures here.

Every day at 4 pm, snow appears like magic for fabulous selfies, and on the weekend, there is live music to add to the festive cheer.
